Connect the video camera to a laptop:
The USB transfer cable should be either attached to the camera or laying on the table. The cable attaches to the camera on the right side, under the handle, there is a little door to lift up. The micro USB inserts here and the USB connects to the laptop. Turn the camera on Click the play button on the left side of the camera, furthest button in, then touch the screen to select "For all to PC" ON THE LAPTOP: Go to: Start / Computer / Canon Camera / AVCHD / BDMV / Stream / Highlight all of the videos that are yours. (You can select multiple videos by holding your control key down and left clicking on each video) Open a folder you would like to transfer them to (Namely your TSF DMP folder) Drag all videos from the camera folder to your destination folder. After they copy, click back over to the camera folder and delete all of your videos. You can grab a flash drive and copy your videos to that in order to transfer them to a Mac if you prefer to work in iMovie. Otherwise you will need to convert the videos in order to work in Camtasia: Since we do not have converting software that works well enough to do this, we have developed a run around... Open your videos in Moviemaker (on laptop). You can do this one video at a time if you prefer to edit in Camtasia or you can edit your videos in Moviemaker first then convert to finish in Camtasia. In Moviemaker: Go to File/Save Movie/For Computer Navigate to your TSF DMP folder and name it the name of your project. (Example: Jasman Plumbing Commercial) This will save your movie as a WMV which can be imported into Camtasia or Mixcraft. |
