How to add your ringtone to your cellphone
For iphones:The following steps are based on this article that may be even more helpful for those in the i-World:

*Download your mp3 from canvas to a mac by going to the assignment and clicking on the submission in the top right corner.
*Make sure your airdrop on your iphone is set to 'everyone' by going to settings/general/airdrop/everyone
*Open a finder window and click on 'airdrop' and you should see your phone in that window.
*Right click on the finder icon and choose "new finder window."
*In this new window, Go to the folder you saved your mp3 in.
*Drag and drop the mp3 from the computer's folder to your phone in the airdrop window.
*On your phone, choose to accept the airdrop and add it to your files.
*Choose "on my iphone" and "Garageband Files" then 'save'
*ON YOUR iphone: Open Garageband
*Click the + in the top right corner to start a new song.
*Choose 'Audio Recorder' then 'voice'
*You could choose to record whatever you want at this point but you are here to try to get your ringtone project so click on the 'tracks' button which is the third from the left at the top and looks like a stack of bricks.
*Click on the + sign on the far right at the top to get to 'song sections'.
*Click on 'section a' then slide the automatic button to on.
*Click your 'loops' icon at the top, second from the right.
*Choose 'files' at the top middle.
*Your MP3 should be listed, drag and drop it into a track in garageband. (WITHOUT DELETING IT...)
*Turn OFF your metronome or there will be annoying clicking. (that thing that ticks back and forth at the top next to the record button.
*Click the down arrow in the top left corner and choose 'my songs'
*Hold your finger down on that song you just created and a menu will show up. You can choose to rename it so you know which garageband file this is then come back to this menu and choose 'share' at the bottom.
*3 choices appear and you will choose the middle one named, "ringtone"
*Name your ringtone then click 'export' in the top right corner.
*RINGTONE EXPORT SUCCESSFUL! You can "set sound as" or just click ok! :) Treat your masterpiece just like any other ringtone on your phone, now!!! :)
How to add your ringtone to a NOT-AN-IPHONE:
*Connect your phone to the computer with your USB charging cord.
*Unlock your phone and allow or trust the computer on your phone
*On your computer, click on the folder icon and go to ' this PC'
*Your phone should appear in the device section
*Double click on your phone and a list of folders will appear
*Open the "Ringtone" folder and drag this window to one side of your screen
*Right click on the folder icon at the bottom and choose 'File Explorer'
*Go to where you saved your mp3 then DRAG AND DROP your mp3 from that window over to your Ringtone Folder that is already open.
*Your ringtone is now on your phone and can be set up to be just like any other ringtone on your phone! *BOOM*
