How can one paint a mental picture using sound only? How do musicians/writers take an idea or concept and turn it into a finished product? _Course Description:
Each student will work in a group to create an audio project that creates a mental picture through the use of sound effects and music. Students will ask several questions while developing their project.
6th grade audiobook project Final project – an MP3 recording of a book with music soundbed and sound effects *Basic program manipulation of GarageBand or Mixcraft Clipping and balancing Track requirements – audio on one track, music on at least 1 track, page turns on their own track, sound effects on at least one track Timing for page turns/sound effects/drama *Vocal recording Pace of reading, expressiveness of reading, one loop per page of the book *Music soundbed; appropriate to story Change of music during the story with the change of action Choice of prerecorded loops and/or original music on piano, guitar, etc. Use of all three - melody, harmony, and rhythm *Sound effects appropriate to story Spaced through the entire story Precorded and/or original sound effects |
